What is the Gospel message and what does Redemption mean? An Ephesians 1:7 study

Our company and the essentials collection is based on Ephesians 1:7 "in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace." and the overall Gospel message. So, it's important for us to get across the main message behind what we do and why we do it. This written sermon should be read to understand the foundation redeemed. is built on and the inspiration behind our essentials collection.
There will be 3 main points that will be explained in this written sermon. They are as follows.
#1: What is the Gospel message?
The gospel is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ the living God so that whoever believes in Him shall receive salvation and have eternal life. The gospel books found in the New Testament Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are biographies of the last few years of Jesus when He started His ministry and began to preach the good news. He preached He was the son of God and will be brought as a sacrifice by His death on the cross to redeem those who believe in Him from sin, as well as many other biblical teachings.
#2: What does Ephesians 1:7 say and what does redemption mean?
Ephesians 1:7 says "in Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace."
Ephesians is a letter written by the apostle Paul to the church in Ephesus, he writes to expand the minds of the Christians living in Ephesus so that they might understand better God's eternal purpose and grace and appreciate the high goals God has for the church.
Starting with the beginning of Ephesians 1:7 "in Him" simply enforces the doctrine that there is only one way to heaven, there is no other possible way that you can enter the kingdom of God. Only through believing in the death and resurrection of Christ can one be saved.
"we have redemption" the greek word used for redemption is "lootruo" which means "to liberate on the receipt of ransom" essentially meaning that a price has to be paid to clear a debt/receipt. Here in this context, Jesus' blood is the price paid to clear our debt as the verse goes on to say "through His blood". His death on the cross was His payment on our behalf to clear our debt to God which is our sin, no other payment can cover such a great cost. This is our main foundation. We are redeemed. There is no longer any outstanding debt on our lives, Christ has paid for it all on the cross, and we can live in freedom knowing that our eternal life is secure in the faithfulness of the Lord.
"in accordance with the riches of God's grace." The redemption and forgiveness of our sins is on a parallel level with the riches of His grace. This isn't a small redemption, but an immense one, try and fathom the great riches of God and that's how much His sacrifice had to be in order to offer redemption to those who follow Him.
#3: What does this mean to us?
This is the truth, and as followers of Jesus we can find peace in this truth, Jesus has paid the price for our sins and we are redeemed. Nothing else or anything more needs to be done besides having faith in Him alone, and it's as simple as that.
However, if you're not a follower of Christ the gospel message is for you, and the beauty of it is WHOEVER believes in Him shall be saved. You don't have to be a certain type of person, you don't have to be immensely good or have to follow a strict set of rules already. No, no matter what sin you have committed knowingly or unknowingly Jesus is there ready to accept your faith in Him and offer you redemption and a seat at His table in heaven. If you read this and want to follow Jesus all you have to do is believe that He is the son of God and he died and resurrected for your sins, and pray a prayer of repentance, that you will turn away from your old self and become a new person in Christ and ask for His forgiveness.
If you prayed that prayer to follow Jesus we love to hear from you, so let us know using our contact page found here.
